Build. Grow. Connect. Repeat. #BuildKamloops

Kamloops has grown by 20,000 residents since we chose to become Canada’s Tournament Capital and invest in our recreational infrastructure over 20 years ago. We’re also expected to grow twice as fast in the next 10 years, welcoming another 20,000 new residents by 2035. This is where Build Kamloops comes in!

Build Kamloops is a visionary program to re-establish the city’s prominence as Canada’s Tournament Capital, foster our recognition as a premier arts and culture destination, and keep pace with our recreation and leisure needs as Canada’s third fastest-growing city.

Build Kamloops is about being deliberate and purposeful in planning for the growth of our community. Facilities have been strategically chosen based on the Recreation Master Plan that was initiated in 2018 and has involved extensive community engagement.

With our eyes set on continuous improvement, guided by the Recreation Master Plan, we are paving the way for informed and strategic enhancements to our community’s recreational facilities. This plan is a blueprint for our growth, ensuring that as Kamloops evolves, so do our spaces for play, health, and connection. Let’s keep building, innovating, and investing in facilities that unite and uplift us all.

Your participation through surveys, questionnaires, open houses, and online engagement has been instrumental.

As we implement the Recreation Master Plan, we’re bringing your visions to life, creating a lasting legacy of health and community spirit for all generations.
