Kamloops Symphony Announces 2024/25 Season
KAMLOOPS, B.C. – The Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Dina Gilbert, is thrilled to unveil its much-anticipated 2024/25 Season, promising an unforgettable musical journey that is tuned to life.
From timeless orchestral masterworks by revered composers like Tchaikovsky, Handel, and Mendelssohn to contemporary pieces by visionary artists including Missy Mazzoli, and Grażyna Bacewicz, the Fairfield by Marriott Kamloops Signature series will once again captivate audiences with the virtuosity and passion of the KSO musicians. Featured with the KSO will be celebrated Canadian artsits: composer and pianist jean-Michel Blais, Innu soprano Élisabeth St-Gelais, and the KSO’s own Principal Bass Maggie Hasspacher, among many others.
Continuing to explore the lighter facets of orchestral music, the Kelson Group Pops series will feature acclaimed guest artists such as the Cuban-Canadian Grammy Award-winning sensation Alex Cuba from Smithers, BC, and the Tony Award-winning “First Lady of Musical Theatre,” Louise Pitre with a performance of songs by French singer, Édith Piaf.
Exciting additions to this season’s lineup include the North Shore Harmonies series, marking the debut of the KSO and KSO Chorus on the North Shore at the Kamloops Alliance Church with music by Kamloops-born Stacey Brown alongside works by Vivalid and Vaughn Williams, as well as the Live At Kelson Hall and KSO Chamber Players series, presenting a diverse array of intimate performances by KSO musicians and touring artists at the Kelson Hall Centre for Arts & Education, specially curated to satisfy diverse tastes and inspire audiences.
The KSO will also be presenting an array of family-friendly, educational, and relaxed concerts, ranging from full Kids Concerts & Relaxed Performances series in Sagebrush Theatre for kids aged 5-12 to the Tiny Tots concert series for under 5s at Kelson Hall.
Notable highlights include the festive favourite Christmas with the KSO, featuring the KSO Chorus and the debut of the KSO Music School Children’s Chorus; a unique look at the creation of Handel’s Messiah with Handel Writes the Messiah, an innovative fusion of theatrical play and concert featuring WCT Artistic Director James MacDonald; and a special concert presentation of the greatest tunes of The Who & Led Zeppelin featuring local favourites, Jeans ‘n Classics.

Season ticket packages will go on sale starting May 14, and single ticket sales will begin on July 23. The KSO is expanding on their Tiered Seating in Sagebrush Theatre. In order to make concerts more accessible to the price conscious, there will now be four tiers of ticket prices for the seat maps in Sagebrush for the 2024-25 Season. All ticket sales for the KSO’s Mainstage performances in Sagebrush Theatre and the Kamloops Alliance Church are through Kamloops Live! Youth tickets for audience members under the age of 19 will be $15 dollars, and the KSOundcheck program will continue to offer significantly discounted tickets to those who are aged 19-34.
