CLOVERDALE – New Democrat MLA Starchuk say that funding will help ensure local fairs, festivals and events can provide fun and excitement for residents and visitors alike.

“Cloverdale is emerging as the exciting place for people to attend events as we have the space and facilities to put on great shows,” says Mike Starchuk, MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale. “I’m glad our government recognizes the importance to the people of Cloverdale and to guests of these events. Through this funding of nearly $400,000, we can ensure that everyone has a great time!”

In Cloverdale, the following events received funding:

  • Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair, $139,700
  • Cloverdale Constellation Festival, $98,900
  • Cloverdale Country Music Festival, $85,000
  • Surrey Canada Day, $71,000

Across B.C., $15 million in funding will support 1114 fairs, festivals, and events in 2024 and 2025.

Since 2021, the BC New Democrat government has provided $80 million through the Fairs, Festivals, and Events Fund, helping event organizers to overcome ongoing challenges and ensure fun experiences are available for residents and visitors around the province.
