TRU’s 100 Mile House regional centre invites community to grand opening – TRU Newsroom
KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites the community to explore the new 100 Mile House Regional Centre. This relocation is in line with TRU’s continuous commitment to providing accessible and high-quality education in the British Columbia region.
“TRU 100 Mile House is committed to serving students close to their home communities. Students will be able to receive their education and training in areas such as academic preparation, trades, health care, and in other fields, locally,” said Dean of Trades and Technology Baldev Pooni. “These opportunities may directly fulfill personal goals or meet local needs, and they will also serve as starting points toward further study in diplomas and degrees in Kamloops and, where applicable, Williams Lake,” he said.
Pooni says current technologies will connect the 100 Mile House campus to Kamloops and Williams Lake for additional support and opportunity. “For many, the first step on a new or renewed educational journey is academic upgrading and we are excited to announce that TRU 100 Mile House will offer University Preparation courses in person in the fall of 2024,” he said.
“These courses offer the opportunity to refresh knowledge, to test out whether return to study is for you, and to take those first, all important steps toward further education in a supportive environment,” said Pooni.
