New Democrats wish you Eid Mubarak! « Canada’s NDP

Canada’s NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh issued the following statement:

“As the month of Ramadan comes to an end, New Democrats wish Muslims across Canada and around the world a Eid Mubarak!

This year, Ramadan was particularly difficult as a humanitarian crisis continues to unfold in Gaza and Sudan. New Democrats have relentlessly urged the government to call for an end to the violence, to ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in desperate need and to allow relatives to reunite with their families to safety in Canada.

During Ramadan, we witnessed the Muslim community’s strong commitment to charity to help those in need here in Canada and across the world. We’ve also witnessed the strong solidarity for peace and justice in the community, and how respect for one another, no matter the adversity, is highly valued.

As Muslims around the world gather with their families and friends to mark the end of Ramadan, New Democrats send you our warmest wishes.

May this Eid be filled with justice, peace, and blessings.
