MLA Lisa Beare says funding for local airport will support services in Pitt Meadows
PITT MEADOWS- New Democrat MLA Lisa Beare says people and businesses will benefit from funding announced today for regional airport upgrades.
“The Pitt Meadows airport is small but mighty, and provides such amazing service,” said Lisa Beare, MLA for Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows. “I’m glad our government can help local airports with upgrading and maintenance so that they can continue to help bring people and goods to our communities!”
The Pitt Meadows Regional Airport is receiving $520,000 in funding from the BC Air Access Program to help with culvert replacements and perimeter fencing.
Across the province, the New Democrat government is investing $11 million this year to support 26 projects at two dozen regional airports through the BC Air Access Program. The program is open to facilities that serve fewer than one million passengers per year.
Since 2017, the BC Air Access Program has provided more than $63 million in grants to support infrastructure improvement projects at 71 regional airports and air facilities.
