MLA Malcolmson says new affordable homes coming for renters in Nanaimo
NANAIMO – New Democrat MLA Sheila Malcolmson says that funding announced today will bring 62 new affordable rental homes to Nanaimo, to help more people with moderate and low incomes find a place to live.
“We want Nanaimo seniors who’ve contributed so much to our community to have good affordable homes,” said Sheila Malcolmson, MLA for Nanaimo. “With these 62 new units of seniors affordable housing, more seniors can stay in the community they know and love.”
In Nanaimo the Woodgrove Senior Citizens’ Housing organization had a successful Community Housing Fund application to create 62 units of housing for seniors.

Projects were approved based on several criteria, including prioritized populations and the impact the project would have on the community’s housing needs.
