Blazes in Western Canada and Texas highlight how the elements that fuel wildfires are becoming present earlier in the year. “What we’re seeing is more favorable conditions for fire as we continue to warm,” says wildfire expert Dr. Mike Flannigan. “The window for burning is getting longer, which means there’s more opportunities to burn.” Read more
