First-year nursing students in Kamloops were gifted lab kits in September that were funded by Day of Giving in 2023.

WILLIAMS LAKE — Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is counting down to the 2024 Day of Giving: 48 hours to raise $48,000 in support of students and education.

Starting Thursday, Feb. 29, donors are invited to choose their cause at tru.ca/givingday. The Williams Lake Endowed Fund for Student Support is one of this year’s featured funds during Day of Giving. The endowment campaign was recently established to support scholarships, bursaries and other student initiatives at TRU Williams Lake for decades to come.

“Supporting students helps encourage the best minds, reduces barriers to education and promotes programming and equipment upgrades to keep TRU students at the head of the pack,” said TRU Associate Vice-President Advancement Kim Cassar Torreggiani.

“Day of Giving is when we ask the community to help build the kind of future they want to see in Williams Lake by investing in the success of local students. We invite everyone to join us by making a gift Feb. 29 through March 1.”

Supporters can contribute to the Williams Lake Endowed Fund or any fund of their choice during Day of Giving at tru.ca/givingday.

For more information on each of the featured funds and to follow along throughout Day of Giving, visit tru.ca/givingday.
