Rail Riot rocks TRU
Skiing on the handrails at Thompson Rivers University?
Young athletes transform a boring old handrail into this year’s hottest urban ski & board obstacle at Rail Riot, an invitational showcase that’s a first-of-its-kind event at TRU on Friday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.
Organized by the students of the Tourism Management department event program, Rail Riot is for everyone. All ages are welcome.
Entrance is free; just grab your friends and get ready to have the time of your life! Or come hang out to make some new ones. Cheer on the athletes, get free merch, hang with the cool kids and get stoked.
While athletes hit the rail, audience members are encouraged to show their support – the loudest people win prizes – and witness the thrills and spills of this pre-season jam.
Rail jams are a thing. Athletes use urban surfaces like rails and concrete for their drops and rides rather than mountain terrain. And now, it’s coming to Kamloops. Rail Riot is an event you don’t want to miss.
Rail Riot is presented by Powerade and brought to you by The Truth Skate & Snow, Cooper Equipment Rentals, Newschoolers, Put It In The Bowl, Mara Clothing Co. and Out Here Ski & Snowboard Club. Sponsors will be present and holding giveaways during the event.
