PM Trudeau and MPs on Alberta election results, foreign interference, official languages report

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulates Danielle Smith on her victory in Alberta’s provincial election. The prime minister, Social Development Minister Karina Gould and Liberal MP Judy Sgro are asked about the NDP’s motion calling for David Johnston to step down as the government’s special rapporteur on foreign interference.

Conservative Alberta MPs Stephanie Kusie, Greg McLean and Dane Lloyd comment on the results of Alberta’s election which saw the United Conservative Party winning a majority of seats.

Official Languages Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Transport Minister Omar Alghabra, NDP official languages critic Niki Ashton, Liberal MP Darrell Samson, and Bloc Québécois official languages critic Mario Beaulieu discuss the new annual report from Canada’s official languages commissioner.

Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos is asked about the Department of National Defence’s plan to divest land in the Sainte-Foy area of Québec City. Some of the land will be offered to sale to First Nations in the region.
