Conservative MPs raise concerns over government's motion on firearms bill – May 8, 2023

Conservative public safety critic Raquel Dancho and the party’s Quebec lieutenant Pierre Paul-Hus speak with reporters on Parliament Hill about the government’s recently introduced motion on its firearms legislation (C-21) that seeks to set time limits on a committee’s debate on the bill. The motion would also authorize the House of Commons public safety committee to expand the scope of the original legislation. Dancho and Paul-Hus also face questions about the government’s handling of a Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) report concerning China’s alleged targeting of Conservative MP Michael Chong and his family.
