Highlights from our Reimagined 2020-21 Season
What a year it has been for us at the Kamloops Symphony, and for all of us. Although we have continued to facer disruption over the last fifteen months, we also faced a period of tremendous opportunity and growth.
To close out the year, we have put together a video of highlights from our reimagined 2020-21 Season.
In 2020-21 we made the rapid transition to digital programming, being one of the first orchestras in the province to launch high-quality digital content and one of the few orchestras in Canada to produce a full season, with nine full concert experiences.
We worked with local and international artists in innovative ways (and in some cases, without even having to worry about travel). We collaborated with local artistic partners, including Western Canada Theatre, the Kamloops Art Gallery, and even saw ourselves on the big screen thanks to the Kamloops Film Society. We released many free digital initiatives and launched a new outreach initiative the KSO Wellness Lab. We also “ran” a successful fundraising campaign that garnered national media attention. This is all while running a music school, at regular capacity.
We are the first to admit that there were several learning moments along and way, but most significantly, we know that none of this would have been possible without you: our loyal patrons and community partners.
So thank you for trusting us, and coming along for the ride.
As we close out our year, we are now hard at work getting in-person experiences ready for you in the fall. We are thrilled to take all that we learned this year and apply it to creating more impactful experiences for you soon. So, stay tuned!
Much gratitude and wishing you a safe and rejuvenating summer.
