May 17, 2021 at 11:30 am  Kamloops, Municipal, Politics

What began as an exercise to raise morale across Canada, “Operation INSPIRATION” turned tragic on May 17, 2020, when one of the jets a Canadian Forces Snowbirds jet crashed shortly after takeoff in the Brocklehurst neighbourhood, resulting in the loss of life of public affairs officer Captain Jennifer Casey and the serious injury of pilot Captain Richard MacDougall.

A permanent memorial dedicated to Captain Jennifer Casey and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds 431 Air Demonstration Squadron will be constructed at a future park in 2023. Fulton Field Park will be located along Tranquille Road near Fulton Field.
