The Kamloops Symphony, under the direction of Dina Gilbert, is presenting Violà Viola, shining a light on the sometimes-forgotten yet always exquisitely beautiful member of the string section: the viola. Sought-after Canadian soloist, Marina Thibeault plays the ethereal and folkloric “Viola Concerto” by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks. Grieg’s “Holberg Suite”, and the “Concerto for Strings” by Nino Rota, best known for his soundtrack to The Godfather, round out this adventurous concert experience.
