Sit to Stand
This exercise will improve your lower-body strength needed for daily activities such as stair climbing, walking, rising from a chair or car. Improving lower extremity strength is also correlated to reducing fall risk.
Start in a sturdy chair that, when sitting, has your hips at about the same level as your knees. Set your feet at a comfortable, around hip-shoulder, width apart. Using your hands for as much support as you need, rise up into a standing position. In a safe controlled manner, using your hands for support, lower completely back down into the chair.
