Theatre faculty member George Johnson’s play Boomerangst hits the stage on Thursday, June 8.

The play is about former high school rockers in a band called Intensive Care, who form a retirement commune to get back to the garden of their green youthful ideals. They dig up more dirt than they can handle before uniting and rocking out against a mining company undermining their land.

Boomerangst is the first play written for Kamloops. It has wide appeal, since most people want the chance to live out their youthful ideals.

As Intensive Care, play participants have released one song and video, Climate Crisis, on YouTube and another, Not Quite A Hippy, releases Friday, June 2, on Spotify and all platforms.

Check out tickets for Boomerangst at KLBO here.
