Environmental Science Seminar Series – Biological soil crusts: A model system for terrestrial carbon cycling

Speaker: Dr. Blaire Steven, Connecticut Experimental Research Station

In this seminar, Dr. Steven will introduce biological soil crusts, an enigmatic ecosystem with a global distribution.

Their role and responses to climate change will be discussed, and what biological soil crusts can tell us about how other ecosystems may respond or adapt to a changing climate.
