It’s Time to End the Stigma – TRU Newsroom

November 8, 2022 at 10:31 am  Education, Kamloops, News

TRU Gaglardi, with support from the Aaron Manson “Be Brave” Memorial Fund, presents an educational and support-focused event aimed at ending the stigma behind addiction.

Addiction and mental health affect us all. Its impact on a loved one, family member, friend, classmate, or coworker ripples through our many lives and lived experiences. Hosted during National Addiction Awareness Week, we welcome our community to join us in a safe space as we learn how to support those struggling with substance use, hear stories from those directly impacted and learn how to find help. This event is open to all.

Keynote speaker and experienced addiction medicine physician, Dr. Mandy Manak, will share her talk on “How to Stay Resilient During an Opioid Epidemic.” There will be support from the TRU Wellness Centre, Interior Health and A New Tomorrow: Treatment Solutions to offer additional resources, and support and to provide Naloxone training and kits for those interested.

RSVP today.
