In a virtual news conference, representatives from Statistics Canada present findings from the third release of the 2021 Census. Laurent Martel (director of the Centre for Demography) presents data on families and households, Tristan Cayn (chief in the Centre for Diversity and Sociocultural Statistics) discusses the Canadian military experience and André Bernard (chief in the Centre for Income and Socioeconomic Well-being Statistics) presents the income profile of Canadians. Martel says there are now more one-person households than ever in Canadian history, while homes shared by roommates are the fastest-growing household type. This is the third broadcast presentation on the 2021 census, and four more are expected.
