Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland holds a news conference in Brampton, Ontario, after touring a local trucking facility. She is joined by Liberal MPs Shafqat Ali (Brampton Centre), Ruby Sahota (Brampton North), Maninder Sidhu (Brampton East) and Sonia Sidhu (Brampton South), Tanvir Singh (operations manager, KJS Transport Inc.) and Bob Punia (Ontario Dump Truck Association). She responds to questions on a new Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ study that says the Bank of Canada’s strategy for tackling inflation may trigger a recession, what the federal government plans to do offset the increasing cost of fuel and gas, and the necessity of maintaining the ArriveCan app for travellers entering Canada.
