Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair announces funding for dementia research – June 29, 2022

In Waterloo. Bill Blair (federal minister of emergency preparedness) announces $2.1 million in funding for a University of Waterloo research project to strengthen search and rescue capacity systems for dementia patients who go missing. He is joined by Bardish Chagger (MP for Waterloo), Charmaine Dean (vice-president, research, University of Waterloo) and Elder Myeengun Henry (Indigenous Knowledge keeper, University of Waterloo). Minister Blair also responds to questions about whether there was federal pressure exerted on RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki to release firearms investigation information from the Nova Scotia mass shooting.
