In Victoria, British Columbia ministers Mike Farnworth (public safety) and Adrian Dix (health) announce the launch of a provincial preparedness plan for extreme heat events following last summer’s unprecedented heat wave. As part of the plan, the province will introduce a heat alert and response system and additional measures will be brought in to strengthen B.C.’s ambulance system to be more responsive during extreme heat emergencies.
