An outstanding result for Mike Schreiner and the Ontario Greens

VANCOUVER – Green Party interim Leader Amita Kuttner today issued the following statement on the Ontario election.

“Today I speak on behalf of Greens across the country when I congratulate Green Party of Ontario Leader Mike Schreiner and his team on an outstanding achievement last night.

“Mike not only retained his seat of Guelph, he increased his majority to a remarkable 54.5 per cent of the vote. The trend was the same across the province as the Green share of the total vote jumped by more than 30 per cent and Matt Richter came so close to taking the Conservative stronghold of Parry Sound-Muskoka.

“These results are a tribute to Mike Schreiner’s tireless work on behalf of the citizens of Guelph and his relentless advocacy for progressive, innovative policies in the legislature.

“Well done, Mike and all the Ontario Green Party candidates. You are an inspiration to us all.”
