PM Trudeau on military culture, NDP MPS on B.C. drug decriminalization – May 31, 2022

May 31, 2022 at 2:57 pm  Federal, Politics

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responds briefly to questions from reporters on Parliament Hill about support to Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing invasion and about changing the culture of the Canadian Armed Forces. NDP mental health and harm reduction critic Gord Johns and NDP deputy leader Alexandre Boulerice react to the federal government granting British Columbia a three-year exemption under the federal Controlled Drugs and Substances Act to decriminalize possession of small amounts of certain illicit drugs for personal use. The province requested the exemption, which will apply to residents 18 years of age and older, to deal with the opioid crisis.
