Ontario Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca announces that a Ontario Liberal government would launch a provincial auto theft task force to take action against carjackings that are driven by organized crime. He is making the announcement in Etobicoke at the site of a recent high-profile carjacking involving a Toronto Maple Leafs player. There has been a recent rise in carjackings in the Greater Toronto Area and across the province. Del Duca also reiterates his party’s pledge to ban handguns provincewide. He is joined by Lee Fairclough, Liberal candidate for Etobicoke–Lakeshore. Ontario voters head to the polls in a general election on June 2.
