NDP reacts to government's launch of inquiry on its use of Emergencies Act – April 25, 2022

NDP MP Matthew Green, co-chair of the joint parliamentary committee that is reviewing the use of the Emergencies Act to end convoy protests, speaks with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal government calls an independent inquiry on its decision to invoke the Act. The federal Emergencies Act requires an inquiry to be called 60 days after a declaration of an emergency is revoked or expired. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Act on February 14, 2022, and revoked it on February 23.
