Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson makes an announcement – April 19, 2022

In Winnipeg, Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson announces the province is contributing $2 million to the Toba Centre for Children and Youth’s capital campaign, which aims to raise $15 million for renovations to its new location. Formerly Snowflake Place, the centre is a charitable organization focusing on the needs of children and youth who have experienced or witnessed physical abuse. Also taking part in the news conference are Rochelle Squires (provincial minister of families), Brian Bowman (mayor of Winnipeg), Betty Ross (Pimicikamak Cree Nation elder), Garrison Settee (Grand chief of Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc.), Cindy Woodhouse (Assembly of First Nations regional chief for Manitoba), Christy Dzikowicz (executive director of the Toba Centre), Jane MacLatchy (assistant commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mount Police D Division), Danny Smyth (chief of the Winnipeg Police), and Ken Talbot (chair of the capital campaign to support the Toba Centre).
