Ontario Premier Doug Ford on health care in Scarborough, COVID-19 situation – April 14, 2022

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announces the province is investing over $1 billion towards several major redevelopment and expansion projects for the Scarborough Health Network, including a new hospital for the region. He is joined at the news conference in Scarborough by Christine Elliott, the deputy premier and minister of health, Elizabeth Fuller, president and CEO of the Scarborough Health Network, and Aris Babikan, the MPP for Scarborough–Agincourt. The premier also responds to questions about the COVID-19 situation in the province as cases and hospitalizations rise amid a sixth wave of the pandemic.
