TRU Actors Workshop Theatre’s (AWT) next event is The 23rd Directors Festival featuring Night A and Night B. This production is directed by various upper-level directors and they are listed below. This show features a variety of students in the theatre program at TRU, ranging from their first year in the program to beyond.

This showcase will be at the TRU Actors Workshop Theatre from April 11 – 16, with shows starting at 7:30 pm.

PLAY #3 by Harley Adams

Directed by George Nazaray

Pete had just moved into a new apartment with his family when he meets his neighbour, John. John is looking to for a friend, but Peter and John don’t share the same sense of humor. Will they be friends or foes?

THE CLEANERS by Lindsay Joy

Directed by Kait Lampard

Lower East Side.  Right now.  It’s Rita and Jerry’s job to clean up the stuff no one else will: death.

WHOPPERS by Le Wilhelm

Directed by Rem Murray

A loving husband and wife engage in a battle for their marriage and two enormous fish. They fight and fish their way through a hilariously huge misunderstanding.

DANIEL ON A THURSDAY by Garth Wingfield

Directed by Megan Mckinlay

It’s Golden Girls night. You’re relaxing at your regular bar spot when suddenly some dude you’ve never met named Kevin rolls up and starts telling you about your own life! How does he know your name? How does he know you had a crush on your fifth grade math teacher? What is he doing in a gay bar?

The show will be taking place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Please maintain physical distancing recommendations.

If an audience member needs to leave for whatever reason during the show, they will not be allowed back into the theatre.

The 23rd Directors Festival will run at the TRU Actors Workshop Theatre, located in the Old Main building at TRU, from April 11 – 16. The doors for each show will open at 7:00 pm and the show will begin at 7:30 pm to allow for minimal crowding.

Tickets are available NOW for 15 dollars each (plus fees and taxes). Please click the ‘Buy Tickets’ link on our webpage or contact the TRU AWT Box Office by calling 250-377-6100 or visiting us from April 4 – 15 at the box office in Old Main, open Monday to Friday from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm.
