10:00 MT / 12:00 ET: Alberta Premier Jason Kenney discusses funding for air ambulances

At a news conference in Medicine Hat, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announces nearly $3 million in funding to support the province’s air ambulance services. The investment is part of his government’s latest budget. Helicopter Air Lift Operation (HALO) will receive over $1 million in guaranteed annual funding and will contract with Alberta Health Services. Helicopter Emergency Rescue Operation (HERO) will receive nearly $2 million as part of a new five-year contract. Premier Kenney is joined by Jason Copping (minister of health), Michaela Frey (MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat), Paul Carolan (CEO of HALO), and Paul Spring (president of the Local HERO Foundation).
