Starting soon: Federal minister makes announcement on mental health and substance use services

In Toronto, Carolyn Bennett (the federal minister of mental health and addictions) announces that the federal government is partnering with the Standards Council of Canada to develop national standards for mental health and substance abuse services. Minister Bennett also announces a $600,000 investment for six research projects to support the launch of the new standards. She is joined by Rob Oliphant (the MP for Don Valley West), Pierre Bilodeau (vice-president of strategy and stakeholder engagement at the Standards Council of Canada) along with Andy Smith and Roula Markoulakis (Sunnybrook Research Institute).
