B.C. Premier John Horgan discuses support for Ukrainians amid Russian invasion – March 11, 2022

March 11, 2022 at 12:36 pm  Federal, Politics

British Columbia Premier John Horgan speaks with reporters in Victoria about the work his government has been doing with the Ukrainian community in the province as well as with settlement agencies to assist with the arrival of a potentially large number of Ukrainians seeking refuge. Since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, B.C. has donated $1 million towards the Red Cross’ humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, supported federal sanctions against Russia, and halted the import and sale of Russian liquor products. Horgan also responds to questions about a convoy protest against COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates that is heading towards Victoria, the debate over moving to a permanent daylight saving time in B.C., and the opioid crisis.
