Statement on International Women’s Day 2022

OTTAWA – Green Party of Canada interim Leader Amita Kuttner released the following statement:

“Patriarchy continues to underpin many of the problematic structures in our society. It hinders progress towards gender equality and ensures that women’s work remains undervalued, underpaid and precarious.

“The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, #BreakTheBias, challenges us to celebrate women’s achievements and take action for equality by calling out bias whenever and wherever it appears.

“On this International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to eliminating persistent structures of exploitation and abuse, and working together towards a society focussed on equality and wellbeing.”
