PM Justin Trudeau reiterates call for truck blockades to end – February 11, 2022

February 11, 2022 at 11:51 am  Federal, Politics

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau provides an update on efforts to resolve ongoing blockades and protests taking place across the country against COVID-19 restrictions. In his remarks, the prime minister renews his call for an end to blockades. The news conference on Parliament Hill comes as protestors’ occupation of downtown Ottawa enters its third week and as blockades continue at several border crossings that serve as Canada’s vital trade links to the United States. It also comes shortly after Ontario Premier Doug Ford declared a province-wide state of emergency in response to truck blockades in the province, including the one blocking access to the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor.
