January 25, 2022 at 3:21 pm  Federal, Politics

Alberta Health Minister Jason Copping provides an update in Calgary on the COVID-19 situation in the province and the spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant. Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, takes part in the update from Edmonton. The first shipment of Paxlovid, Pfizer’s COVID-19 oral antiviral treatment, is scheduled to arrive in the province on January 31. Due to an initial limited supply and possible side effects, the medication will only be available to Albertans who meet certain criteria.
