Living in a flood-impacted area? Get your well water tested
Monday, December 13, 2021 4:30 PM
The Province continues to advise owners of private drinking-water wells in flood-impacted areas to monitor their water quality.
In flood-affected areas, well water should be considered “not for for human consumption” until the well is assessed, and the water is disinfected and tested. More information is available online at the link below.
To help with this, the Ministry of Health, in partnership with Fraser Health and Interior Health, is making free sample kits and bacteriological testing available.
This program is available until Jan. 15, 2022, with the possibility of extension.
For more information on what is required and how to pick up testing kits, visit: https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/Private-Well-Testing
