Splish Splash – City Water Parks Open for the Season

May 19, 2021 at 10:21 am  Kamloops, Municipal, News

Kamloops, BC—The City of Kamloops is opening its water parks for the season on Friday, May 21. Water parks at Albert McGowan Park, Riverside Park, Westsyde Park, and McDonald Park are open 10:00 am–8:00 pm, seven days a week, throughout the summer season.

The wading pool at Prince Charles Park will also be open 10:00 am–8:00 pm, seven days a week, and has a maximum occupancy of 40 at all times to comply with the provincial health order.

“We are asking users of the wading pool for co-operation and self-monitoring to adhere to protocols to avoid closure of this public space,” said Linda Stride, the City’s Recreation, Health and Wellness Supervisor. “Although outdoors, it’s important to follow the provincial health orders that are in place to avoid gathering in groups and to maintain physical distancing. We hope that residents can abide by the pool capacity to allow the facility to remain open for the summer.”

Key things to remember during your water park visit:

  • children must be supervised
  • wash/sanitize hands before and after water park/wading pool use
  • maintain physical distancing
  • avoid group gatherings
  • wear sunscreen
  • have fun

The City’s priority is protecting residents’ health and safety and continuing to serve you.
