Applications open for French-language funding
The Province is accepting applications from non-profit organizations for one-time funding for projects and initiatives that support British Columbia’s francophone community.
This year’s investment of $250,000 is intended to enhance services in French and promote the linguistic vitality of B.C.’s Francophonie. The funding, managed by the Francophone Affairs Program, is part of the five-year funding commitment made in Budget 2018, totalling $1.25 million for French-language services.
“This is the fourth year of funding, and it reflects our government’s commitment to address the needs of French-speaking British Columbians,” said Adrian Dix, Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs. “Non-profit organizations understand their communities’ needs and the best ways to meet them, which is why I am inviting them to share their proposals to be considered for funding.”
Over the past three years, the funding has supported projects in areas such as health care, mental health, early learning and child care, language resources, environmental protection, historical record preservation and making the province more inclusive.
Non-profit organizations have until April 15, 2021, to submit their application. The application form and further information about the funding, including eligibility requirements, is available at:
