Navigating the 2020 holiday landscape – TRU Newsroom
Take a break in your day to join your colleagues for a Wellness Wednesday virtual Lunch and Learn, hosted by HR Health and Wellness and presented by Grief Specialists Ilana Yahdav and Kim Hanlon.
This year has been a roller coaster of emotions filled with many changes, disappointments and canceled plans. The holidays will likely look and feel very different this year too. For many, this time of year can already be anxiety-inducing and bring up a lot of emotions, even more so now due to the pandemic and the worldwide political climate. These conflicting emotions are normal and natural and also fall under the umbrella of grief. Grief can be stressful and can interfere with how you interact at work and at home.
With this in mind, this workshop will:
- Equip you with a well-rounded understanding of grief and how it can look both in yourself and in others—this awareness is a key first step in determining what you need for support in trying times.
- Help you ease holiday anxiety and free up energy so that you can be fully present no matter how you choose/don’t choose to celebrate this year.
- Provide an overview of tools to help you build your toolkit for navigating grief around the holidays and potential difficult times of the year including stressful dates and anniversaries.
- Please note: This is not a support session and you can participate as you feel comfortable.
Ilana Shapiro Yahdav and Kim Hanlon, founders of Yahdav and Hanlon, are passionate about helping people navigate conflicting feelings around changes in their lives. With over 20 years of experience in the grief and loss space, they bring their expertise, compassion and desire to educate and equip people to not only ‘get through’ their strong emotions and difficult times, but also find healthy tools to help regain the joy in their lives. If you have any questions feel free to contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: This Lunch and Learn will be held via Zoom. Sam Nielsen, Campus Wellness Advisor, will send you a calendar invite with the Zoom link. If you do not receive an email, please message her at email@example.com. Please note that TRU OLFM’s are unable to invoice their time when attending this presentation.
