A Heartfelt Thank You – “Have a Heart to Give…For a Heart to Live”
Since 2007, our city has come together to support the missions of the ICCHA/Wish Fund to improve healthcare for our region.
In lieu of our traditional annual gala, we pivoted our fundraising initiatives in light of the pandemic. The recent ICCHA/WISH Drive-Thru Dinner hosted at Colombo Lodge on Friday November 13th, 2020, and presented by Interior Plumbing and Heating Ltd was a huge success! I sincerely thank the sponsors, donors, and my incredible volunteer team who worked tirelessly to offer flawless and heartwarming service. In 3 hours, we served 380 dinners for two and raised $36,630 in one night!
Our 2020/2021 goal is to raise $300,000 for a 3D-Echocardiogram machine at Royal Inland Hospital. This sophisticated equipment in the ICCHA / Wish Fund Coronary Care Unit will add another dimension to diagnostics and will allow cardiologists to make accurate diagnoses at the bedside of critically ill patients. It will allow them to save time and promptly institute life saving therapies in patients with mechanical complications following heart attacks.
Our fundraising efforts will continue with our upcoming Valentine’s 50/50 Raffle presented by the PHI Hotel Group. The winner will be drawn on February 12, 2021 at Royal Inland Hospital. You could win up to $200,000! Raffle tickets will make a great gift this holiday season – you never know…by “Giving Back to Our Community” you or your loved one could be the lucky winner! (For details and rules, visit www.iwishfund.com)
SAVE THE DATE! Tara Sales, our Hero of the Heart and Head Trainer from Orangetheory Fitness Kamloops is hosting a Row-a-Thon on February 20, 2021. For every dollar donated to the ICCHA / Wish Fund in Honour of Tara Sales (using the Gift Tool on RIH Foundation’s website), Tara will row one metre! Visit www.iwishfund.com to learn more.
The cardiac catheterization laboratory remains the ICCHA / Wish Fund’s destination in our heartfelt journey. It will enable our cardiologists to provide definitive therapy in the form of stenting of heart attacks in Kamloops.
Once again, thank you all who gave from their heart to save a heart! With your support, the flame to make a change will never die.
