The TRU Chinese Students and Scholars Association is pleased to welcome international business consultant, entrepreneur and speaker Cyrus Janssen to Thompson Rivers University on November 12.

Janssen will speak about:

  • His experiences in China over the past 10 years
  • Common Western misunderstandings about China
  • China’s rapid growth over the last 30 years
  • Why it’s important for the world to learn to work with China

Cyrus Janssen is an American expat that has spend the past 14 years travelling the globe and visiting over 60 countries.

He spent a decade of his life living and working in China between the cities of Shanghai and Hong Kong and now calls Richmond, BC his home.

Throughout his journeys, Janssen’s key philosophy has always been to keep an open mind and learn from other cultures.

Janssen is the Managing Director of APP Marketing Solutions, a specialized marketing firm that focuses on helping Canadian businesses connect with Chinese consumers.

He runs a popular YouTube channel that focuses specifically on China and its role in society today. He is one of Canada’s largest KOL (Key Opinion Leader)s on Chinese social media. He shares insights about Western culture to over 350,000 fans from around the world.
