This discussion offers insights on what has been learned from using “Kamloops” over the past fifteen years as a site for students and myself (as both researchers and residents) in understanding the dynamics of change in small cities since the late 20th century. Critical events are used to inform the varied urban sentiments the city has experienced and the challenges confronted by this urban environment within the multi-level model of governance (local-provincial-federal) that has emerged over the last 30 years.
This event takes place at TRU’s new Xchange Social Innovation Lab. Catering courtesy of Bright Eye Brewing.
To help celebrate TRU’s 50th anniversary, we have launched Tap into Research, a series of dynamic mini lectures by academics in the tasting rooms of our city’s craft breweries and coffee houses.
These meet-ups are an opportunity for everyone to learn about cutting-edge research taking place in Kamloops.
Tap into Research events are every two weeks, so stay tuned for the next event.
